The London Dungeon (Tooley Street, London Bridge)

The London Dungeon

Right next to London Bridge Station this famous waxwork museum of torture focuses on the dark side of life. As such it can paint an artificially grim portrait of London: Jack the Ripper is small fry by todays serial killer standards. Stocks, executions, torture machines, rats, plague are the main crowd attractions.

We visited the dungeons on a holiday a few years ago and we really enjoyed it. There was a little wait time in the queue outside the entrance (we waiting around 20 minutes) but it was well worth seeing, and a must for any horror fans. The short boat ride was a surprise, and the actors were very good at playing in character.
