About Camber Castle

Camber Castle

Camber Castle is the ruins of an unusually unaltered artillery fort, built by Henry VIII to guard the port of Rye. There are monthly guided walks round Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, including the castle.  The castle has undergone restoration and conservation works to maintain its glorious image.

The castle is opened on Saturday and Sunday afternoons (2−5pm) in July, August and September (plus afternoons of bank holiday weekends March-Sept).
